The Choir

The Borough Welsh Chapel Choir famously won the National Eisteddfod in Liverpool in 1929. The original choir also released a number of EP’s – a digitised version of one, ‘My Wales’ (1958) can be heard below. The choir’s legacy was revived in 2016 by Mike Williams, one of the Boro’s organists, and also musical director of ‘Eschoir’. The start of this exciting new journey for the Boro’ choir was featured on S4C’s ‘Heno’. The newly re-formed mixed choir, which includes relatives, children and grandchildren of members of the original choir, went on to compete at the National Eisteddfod of Wales in Abergavenny in August 2016.
