Due to Covid-19 the Capel y Boro had to cancel its Service with Rob Nicholls on 22 March 2020. However, if you would like to join us in prayer whenever you can, you are able to to tune into Rob’s video sermon through the Welsh Chapel of Central London’s Facebook, twitter and YouTube channels and on their website. Please visit www.eglwysgymraegllundain.org
To complement Rob’s talk please see below some thoughts from Capel y Boro:
Today I walked along the Thames, and reaching the City and Fleet Street found that the journalists’ church of St Brides, while cancelling Services, was open for prayers. I think it is open for a few hours each day. After using the hand sanitiser by the door I sat in this beautiful church and made for the shrine to departed reporters, broadcasters and media workers, some of whom had died during conflicts, and read this prayer that St Brides had selected for use during this Coronavirus outbreak:
Keep us, good Lord,
under the shadow of Your mercy
in this time of uncertainty and distress.
Sustain and support the anxious and fearful,
and lift up all who rejoice in your comfort
knowing that nothing can separate us
from Your Love
in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Amen
And for a Bible reading here is Psalm 91 which also speaks to us with added resonance at this time.
Psalm 91 (excerpt)
“Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.”
Surely he will save you
from the fowler’s snare
and from the deadly pestilence.
He will cover you with his feathers,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.”
Keep well and safe, and take care, and God bless.
